Great atmosphere & well organised.
The day began at 7am and finished at 4pm. The organisation of the day left a lot to be desired and communications proved a major stumbling block. Half the day it didnt work at all. I had to walk miles to find a toilet, which was a problem when you have to be there for 9 hours without a break.It was a very difficult day for the marshalls and the zone managers.

The Greater Manchester Marathon is back with a bang in 2013. The event takes place on Sunday April 28th with the Start and Finish Line Race Village based at MUFC’s Old Trafford stadium. The organisers are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist as Race Village Marshalls. As a Race Village Marshall you will be assisting with the essential role of guiding runners and spectators around the race village, and directing runners to the start line.
Uniform
All Race Village Marshalls will be provided with appropriate clothing.
Shifts
The day will be split into two 4.5 hour shifts. Volunteers can do one or both shifts, this will be decided when our volunteer co-ordinator contacts you.
